Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin is an interesting matchup. The big old evil wiking (Joe Rogan on Brock Lesnar ancestors) vs the Engineer Shane Carwin, whose nickname is also his profession. So far the betting lines favor Brock heavily and he is the 2:1 favorite. Even though he is just 4:1 in his MMA career, while Shane Carwin is at a perfect 12:0. One might argue that his wins did not come over top notch opponents, which is a pretty retarded statement. Carwin fought good figthers and dominated them, he has yet to see a second round in the UFC, which is just pure evil. His huge fists seem to find the weak spot on every opponents head and he simply drops them. On paper Brock is the stronger Wrestler with a bigger frame, but in reality it's pretty obvious that it's far more difficult to judge the odds here. Carwin is a monster, so is Brock, and so far I have not seen Brock punching people as well as Carwin did. Due to both having a Wrestling Background I'd say that Brocks advantage is not as huge as some people might pretend, it's mixed martial arts after all, and no wrestling match.
It's a good thing that Carwin finally gets his shoot at Brock, who had an almost terminal illness and dodged some bullets by eating his greens. That guy used to be a freakin Carnivore hunting his own meat. Sounds insane, but you get the idea where Joe Rogans wiking thesis originates.
Carwin always had a gameplan and he executed it perfectly so far. With him being very smart and only a part-time fighter (is there such a thing?) while working at his old desk job, it's pretty obvious that he will come in perfect shape for Brock. Brock on the other side is a dark horse, with us not being able to predict how his illness will influence his fighting abilities. If he can come back to beat a guy who is 12:0, he deseveres his high pound for pound rankings. It's going to be a tough fight for Brock, as he has far more to prove than Carwin, even though that guy is the one who did not lose yet. It's hard to rank someone as high as Brock with just 5 fights, let's see how he matches up against someone in his prime who can wrestle.
One thing is obvious though, the next fights after this are going to be awesome, even though you can predict the next fight of the loser only if Carwin pulls out a win. When Brock loses he will probably get a rubber match with Frank Mir, which would be awesome for MMA publicity. The winner will have to fight Velasquez, and if he beats that guy Dos Santos. There is a lot of going on in a stacked heavy weight division and it's going to be fun to see the next fights.
Actually I don't see Brock winning this one and it will neither go to the distance. Brock fought 3 guys, only one at his peak and he is 1:1 against that guy, namely Frank Mir. Brock did not look too good in his fight against Couture and I think it is one of the worst possible matchups for Brock, as he will probably not like being hit by Carwins giant fists. If it wasn't for his luck against Couture, which I actually felt it was, Brock wouldn't be here anyways. He had some big tickets handed to him, because he is a huge draw and already has a name, just like a better Kimbo Slice. Brock has only a small chance against Carwin, Velasquez and Dos Santos, making him place 4 in my UFC heavyweight rankings. It's time he vacates that title. And if I am wrong, all Kudos to Brock, I wouldn't get in the ring with him anyways, as he is one angry man in the octagon.

Havn't been paying attention to MMA since the CBS Fedor fight against "what was his name again..." Anyway, this is an intersting matchup in the UFC . Thanks 4 posting it and keeping the occasional fight fan aware !
That is going to be a great fight between those two. Brock better bring his A+ game because he fighting someone his size and someone that can fight. Don't be surprised if Brock gets spanked
Lesnar does have the size advantage but "you aint' got any muscles on your jawline or nose" so Carwin is favourite to win the fight, but i'll be backing Brock he is the dark horse and quite ironically if he wins ...it will be and an upset

My guess is Brock. But simply because I like him more. I haven't been following UFC, but this fight is going to be awesome.
