Actually cheating at Mafia Wars is close to impossible, as a cheat suggest that you are able to have some kind of unfair advantage. Every player has the possiblity to buy credit points and simply use those to speed up the whole game. To really gain levels fast, you have to invest. If you want to stick to the good old way of leveling up in Mafia Wars there are a few tricks to do it faster than others.

First of all you need friends. Ok, you don't need friend friends, you more like need people who join your mafia, which means you have to add people to your facebook account that you do not know. Chances are you have less than 500 friends, and even if you have probably less than half of those play Mafiawars. There are plenty of groups you can look up, just make a facebook search for mafia wars adding. Favour those groups and write the common sense: add me in there. This is not for the faint hearted. Adding 500 people means that you will recieve plenty of news updates. You could remove those friends later on from your facebook account and still have them in mafiawars, yet you will not be able to send gifts to those or ask them to take part in your crime spree.

1. get more Mafiawars friends, no matter how good you are, you need 501 friends to fully unlock the potential of your mafia wars account. If you are hesitant to do this with your normal facebook account consider creating one simply for the sake of this game.
   
2. Put about 20 Points into stamina and the rest of your Skill points into Energy during the first 40-60 Levels, after that you should get more Stamina, my usual routine looks something like 3 Energy, 2 Stamina, Bonus points on Stamina. You will be able to level faster once you have more energy in Stamina.
3. Learn to appreciate spending money for your mafia. There are items that drop that improve your offensive and defensive skills, you can see those in your loot screen. Now those help a lot, but you are usually a little low on items compared to your mafia size. You should always buy items in the inventory, which is your Mafia Store and add as many weapons, vehicles, armor and animals as possible. Always go for the best items, you will instantly see how much they improve your defense and offense.
4. Join the other Zynga games they offer to you to gain more bonus, which is awarded randomly, but usually you get 1-2 full stamina refill per day.
5. Foucs on Robbing, not fighting. If you want to level fast you should start to rob people, you will gain far more experience for a successful robbery than you will do for a fight. Robbing defense and offense is pretty dependent on the size of your mafia and how you equipped them. The better tools you have, the more successful you will be.
6. Unless you spend money you have to spend a lot time. You should log into your accoutn 4-5 times at different times per day, and if you are a hardcore mafia wars gamer you might need an alarm clock to wake up at night to spend those action points. Just kidding. Or am I not?
   
7. If you need only very little experience to the next level and have a lot action points/stamina do the mission/robbing with the highest payoff, the experience will swap over to the next level while you lose as little points as possible.
8. Never run out of Energy Packs, they give you one hell of a lot of levels if you want to.
9. The best way to do the robbing is to finish off all the easy missions at first and to fly from place to place. New York has quite a few good missions while the early missions in Bankog pretty much suck. Moskow is great for earning experience points through robbing if you have a well equipped mafia, as you need a hell of a lot people to defend them. Everyone can equip 5 people very well, but to do this with 500 people is another story.
   

So, you still want those cheatcodes? As I mentioned, you just need money, and though money can't buy you love, it can sure hell buy you energy reload, stamina reloads, cool items and a mafia team. You just have to be willing to spend your heard earned money for a browser game, which is nothing I would do. I have no problem buying a game for 50 Bucks, but to pay 10$ for a browser game like this, no thank you. If you like mafia wars and are on the lookout for other great games where you need far more coorperation to win than simply sending a few items to people in your friends list I would advise you to check out Hyperiums or Planetarion. Those games might not tackle the Mafia Genre and you have to pay a small fee to fully enjoy them, but those games delivered me far more fun than mafia wars, who simply lives from the pressure they put on you to always play the game, while there is no real skill challenge to it, besides being online a lot.
